How to Use an Oil Remover for Hair Systems
- Prepare Your Work Area
- Have a mirror, paper towels, a fine-tooth comb, and your oil-based remover ready.
- Work in a well-ventilated space as some oil removers can have a strong scent.
- Apply the Oil Remover
- Apply a generous amount of oil remover along the adhesive or tape areas of the hair system.
- Let it sit for about 5–10 minutes to break down the bond.
- Gently Remove the Hair System
- Begin lifting the system from one corner while applying more oil remover as needed.
- If there is resistance, wait a little longer and gently massage the remover into the adhesive.
- Remove Residue from Scalp & Lace/Base
- Use a cotton pad or cloth soaked in oil remover to wipe off adhesive residue from your scalp.
- For the hair system, apply more oil remover to the lace or polyurethane base and gently remove any leftover adhesive.
- Clean & Wash
- Wash your scalp and the hair system thoroughly with a clarifying shampoo to remove oil traces.
- Allow the system to dry completely before reapplying adhesive or tape.
